Overview
Mountains, rivers, and a quiet lodge in the heart of Patagonia
Welcome to Alerces, a small wooden lodge tucked into a quiet Patagonian village, just outside Los Alerces National Park. Known for its clear lakes, ancient forests, and untouched landscapes, this is one of Argentina’s most iconic natural regions.
Just 1.5 hours from Esquel Airport, the lodge feels like a home away from home. With only five double rooms, each with its own bathroom and mountain views, it’s a warm, quiet base where time slows down and nature takes center stage.
From here, we ride into the mountains; crossing rivers, following lake shores, and stopping for a homemade picnic along the way. You might swim in the lake, warm up by a fire, or simply take in the view before getting back in the saddle.
Some days are slower. You might head out to fish, go for a hike, or simply breathe in the forest air. Back at the lodge, you can relax by the fireplace, tie your own flies at our fly-tying corner, or enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine in hand. Here, comfort and adventure live side by side.
We offer authentic fishing, homemade regional cuisine, and the kind of peace that only comes from being truly off the grid. Our warm and dedicated team, including a chef who celebrates local flavors, is here to make your stay unforgettable.
At Alerces Experience, you don’t just visit Patagonia. You catch something real, and release everything else.

Thanks to our cozy lodge, the Alerces Experience runs longer than most Patagonian adventures. Spring brings green forests and flowing rivers. Summer offers long days for riding, swimming, and picnicking. Autumn turns the landscape gold and orange, with crisp air and quiet trails. Each season has its charm, and you’ll always return to a warm meal and soft bed.
Spring (Sept–Nov)
Day: 15–25 °C | Night: 4–12 °CBlooming valleys, melting snow, and fresh rivers. Days grow longer, perfect for exploring and camping under the stars.
Summer (Dec–Feb)
Day: 20–30 °C | Night: 5–10 °C
Long days under a strong mountain sun. We ride early, break for riverside lunches, and end the day in the cool evening air.
Autumn (Mar–May)
Day: 15–25 °C | Night: 3–8 °C
The air turns crisp, and the forests shift from green to gold and red. A perfect season for riding through changing landscapes.
