Araucarias Safari
Malalco is a 6-day horseback expedition through a remote 20,000-hectare ranch in northern Patagonia. Ride ancient trails, sleep in glamping-style camps, and cross lakes by boat—all with Volcán Lanín on the horizon. Limited to 10 guests, it's an intimate journey into the wild heart of Patagonia.
Welcome to Malalco - our 6-day horseback expedition across a remote 20,000-hectare ranch in northern Patagonia. Just 2.5 hours from San Martín de los Andes, this is where the mountains open up and time slows down.
Riding between 3 to 7 hours a day, we follow ancient trails through ever-changing terrain: volcanic slopes, Araucaria forests, wide rivers, hidden lakes, and high-altitude plateaus. All with Volcán Lanín watching in the distance.
Along the way, we rest at remote, fully equipped camps. Each one offers glamping-style tents, hot showers, and honest, hearty Patagonian meals cooked over fire.
Midway through the journey, we swap horses for a boat and cross a southern lake, spending the afternoon on a quiet beach. Here, there’s time for fly fishing, resting, and simply soaking it all in.
The experience is limited to 10 people, so whether you're coming solo or with friends, this is a shared adventure that feels personal from the start. If you’d prefer to ride fewer days, we can adapt the itinerary to match your rhythm.
This is Patagonia as we know it: raw, remote, and unforgettable.
